As a 501(c)(3), the Lawrence Juneteenth Organization relies solely on grants, volunteers, and most importantly, community support. In 2022, sponsors helped raise enough revenue to fund a parade, host entertainment, pay for facility reservations, produce educational material, produce scholarships, purchase annual T-Shirts, and provide an overall safe space to relax and learn about black history in Lawrence.
