Join us for a screening of the award-winning documentary “Aftershock”, followed by a hybrid panel discussion around issues of Black maternal health.

“Aftershock” engages a community-centered approach, focusing on the ripple effects Black maternal mortality inflicts on entire communities. A growing body of research supports the reality that Black women’s health is community health. “Following the preventable deaths of their loved ones due to childbirth complications, two families galvanize activists, birth-workers and physicians to reckon with one of the most pressing American crises of our time – the US maternal health crisis.”

The Juneteenth Organization, B.L.A.C.K. Lawrence, and the NAACP Lawrence, KS Branch are the community organizations supporting this event. More details about our panelists & Zoom link soon.
